Transfer by bus from the airport to our hotel in Madrid.  Enjoy a welcome brunch and then check into our rooms.   This afternoon, you will have time to enjoy an open top bus tour of Madrid to get an overview of the city. Enjoy dinner on your own at one of the many nearby restaurants.

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and then have a full day in Madrid to visit the Royal Palace, Prado Museum and enjoy the beauty of Plaza del Sol and Plaza Major.  This evening, we will present our first concert at one of Madrid’s beautiful Cathedrals.  We will follow that with an included dinner at one of the famous Flamenco restaurants of Madrid.

This morning we will depart for the nearby town of Avila, Spain, a historic walled city We will tour Avila’s key monuments such as its magnificent 12th century wall and the fortress-Cathedral.   This afternoon we will drive to Segovia to check into our hotels.

On Wednesday,  May 27, 2015 A local guide will lead us on a tour of the key monuments in Segovia such as the Roman Aqueduct and the Carmelite Convent where St. John of the Cross is buried with a meditation on his life and works.   This evening, we will present our second concert in the Teatro San Juan on the main square in Segovia.

Thursday, May  28, 2015

After breakfast at the hotel, we will check out of our hotel and depart for Le Rioja and check into our hotel in the middle of the Spanish wine country. We will enjoy a tour of this beautiful part of Spain, enjoying visits to a few of the over 500 wineries located in this area.  This region is also closely linked to the famous Way of Saint James pilgrim route.   This evening, we will stay in our hotel in the Le Rioja area. Dinner tonight is on your own.

Friday, May 29, 2015.  Today, we will meet a guide on the famous El Camino de Santiago trail.  While the full walk can take four weeks, we will spend today walking a short portion of the trail along the route.  Our guide will help us with a better understanding of the history and meaning behind this pilgrimage.   This evening, we will return to our hotel in Le Rioja.

Saturday, May 30, 2015  After we enjoy breakfast, we will check out of the hotel and depart for Barcelona.  Here we will reflect on the Apostle James, patron of Spain –tradition tells us that the Virgin Mary came to Spain and visited him in the year 40 to encourage him in his efforts to convert Spain and its people to Christianity. After lunch, we will visit the Basilica and city’s monuments and then check into our hotel   The group will depart for Barcelona where we will check into our hotel  Dinner is on your own.

Sunday, May 31, 2015   After Breakfast at the hotel, we will depart to participate in a morning worship service with the local reformed (Methodist) congregation.   This afternoon is on your own  to explore this amazing coastal city.  Tonight we will present our third concert in a Basilica located in the Old Section of Barcelona. Dinner is on your own.

Monday, June 1   After Breakfast, we will travel to the shrine of Our Lady of Monserrat, where Ignatius of Loyola had made his peace with God. St. Ignatius founded the order of the Jesuits and led his life as a reflections of St. Francis of Assisi.   We will stay to hear the Boy’s Choir perform in the historic sanctuary and hopefully be able to sing as part of one of the daily masses. After lunch and back in Barcelona we will tour some of the city’s most distinctive places, the Gothic Quarters, Holy Family Church , and Cathedral.  Tonight, we will enjoy a final farewell dinner with the group.

Tuesday, June 2   Depart for US.

Price:   The price for the trip is estimated to be approximately $3400 per person , ($3500 for non-singers)  double occupancy.  A single supplement will be available at approximately $800.00 The final price will be determined when the final payment is due.  Since Spain is on the Euro, the final price may adjust slightly up until the final payment is due, but we will make every effort to keep the price as close to the original quoted price as possible.

Payments:  To hold a spot on the trip, a deposit of $500 per person is required by September 15, 2014.  A second payment of $1500.00 will be due on Dec. 15, 2014 with the final balance due March 1, 2015.

Flights:    We endeavor to book flights, using economy class seats,  that provide the best schedule at lowest price.  Upgrades to Business Class on the same itinerary may be available. For a price quote, please let me know.

You may  choose to book your own airfare because you are traveling on a different itinerary or using Frequent flyer miles, please let me know that you will not be using the group fare.

If you would like to alter either your departing flight or your return flight and leave early or return later, we can make that change with the group fare.  Please let me know the specifics of your itinerary so I can get a quote.

For all flights, You will need to provide information from your passport,  your name, exactly as it appears on your passport along with your date of birth, passport number and the passport expiration date.

Cancellation: Once you have made a payment, If you must cancel before 120 days prior to the trip, you will be entitled to a full refund.  Between 120 days and 30 days prior to the trip, you will be entitled to a refund of the total trip cost less the cost of the airline ticket and any non refundable deposits paid to hotels and other vendors plus a handling fee of $200.00.  If you cancel less than 30 days prior, there will be no refund.   If you cancel after 120 days prior and the airfare has been paid, you may be entitled to an airline credit less the change fee assessed by the airline.  Usually you have one year to use the value of the ticket minus the change fee set by the airline, currently at $300.00.

Trip Insurance: You may wish to purchase trip insurance to protect your cost of the trip in case of a last minute emergency.   Upon receipt of your deposit, you will receive an application for trip insurance.  Please note that insurance will only cover pre-existing conditions if it is purchased within 14 days of your initial deposit.  You can also purchase and compare insurance plans on the website www.insuremytrip.com.  You can purchase trip insurance to cover limited situations or you can purchase insurance that will allow you to cancel for any reason.  Prices and various plans are available.

Baggage:  Most carriers allow for one free checked bag on international flights.  You will be charged for a second checked bag.  Please check the website for specific prices.   You will be allowed a small carry-on and one personal bag.  Please be sure you meet the specifications for the carry on bag so you are not surprised with a charge at check in.
